Fainting cases from vaccines double with new shots

Woo-hoo! Good times with BigPharma poison vaccines.

The number of people who fainted after getting vaccines doubled after U.S. health officials recommended three new shots for adolescents in 2005 and 2006.
The number of people ages 5 and older who fainted after getting a vaccination increased to 463 in January 2005 through July 2007, from 203 during a similar period ending in 2004, according to a report today by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Fainting, or syncope, can be triggered by vaccinations and other medical procedures, the CDC said. The number of fainting episodes has risen since the CDC recommended Merck & Co.’s cancer vaccine, Sanofi Aventis’s meningitis vaccine, and shots against whooping cough, tetanus and diphtheria sold by Sanofi and GlaxoSmithKline Plc. About 63 percent of the fainting episodes occurred after one of the three new shots.
“Potentially life-threatening injuries were described, and one fatality was documented” when a 15-year-old boy fainted and injured his head, CDC researchers said. “All providers administering vaccinations should be aware of the potential for syncope after vaccination and should take appropriate measures to prevent potential injuries.”
The rate of fainting reported to the CDC also increased, to 0.54 cases per million doses distributed in 2006, from 0.3 per million in 2002. The actual rates may be higher because of unreported cases and unused vaccines, the CDC said.
The majority of people who fainted were girls ages 11 to 18, for reasons that aren’t clear, the CDC said. Merck’s Gardasil shot is approved for females ages 9 through 26 and is recommended as part of regular vaccinations for girls 11 and 12. The shot is designed to prevent infection from the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus, or HPV, a cause of cervical cancer.

BS. How did they arrive at these numbers?
I work in a large Pediatric clinic, and we NEVER report when a child faints (other than documenting in the chart). Besides, it’s not uncommon for this to happen; it’s called a VasoVagal response, and is natural.
Big Pharm poison? Have you ever seen a child die from Tetanus? I have. Have you ever seen a child die from Meningococcal disease? I’ve seen several, and it isn’t pretty. The people calling vaccines “poison” are the ones who are clueless about the diseases they prevent. Maybe because we don’t see much of these diseases anymore, but they are out there. I’m thankful we have the vaccines available.

Yeah, you’re probably right, it’s more BS from the CDC. Who knows how they’ve massaged the numbers so they’re lower than what’s reported, a trick they’re really good at?
Please don’t use the “tragic child death” card here. Most healthy children raised in sanitary conditions have more of a chance of dying in a car accident or stubbing their toe than they do from these obscure diseases. OK, maybe not strictly true, but *yawn* I’m certainly not worried.
In fact, it’s my doctor who strongly discourages my family and me from using vaccines and antibiotics. Thank goodness he has more tricks in his bag than the standard M.D.
However, I do sympathize with your plight—you must come across plenty of parents who think a steady diet of high fructose corn syrup, pesticides and trans-fats can be combated with a magical shot or two. Good luck with that!

Most people don’t worry until it happens. Sanitary conditions don’t have much to do with it. Do you take your kids out in public? If so, they are exposed. Sure, the chances of infection may be low, but they are still there.
Prior to widespread use of Hib vaccine (late 80’s/early 90’s), we would typically see 8-10 cases per year of Hib meningitis. Yes, I’ve seen kids seize their brains out with this, and some that went on to develop deafness. But now that the vaccine is given, it’s pretty much a disease of the past.
Good nutrition is important, but it doesn’t produce antibodies against disease. I don’t really see your analogy between poor nutrition and not having to get vaccines.

You still didn’t address the fact on the increased number of kids “fainting” after shots. Do you have a source for this? As I said before, fainting is a PHYSIOLOGICAL response to getting a shot, not to what’s contained in a vaccine. Until there’s a more effective way of administering vaccines without a shot, there will be people fainting. Also, I’ve seen many times where parents or kids faint after getting stitches; should we ban suturing?

The CDC report is at:
http://www.cdc.gov/mmwR/preview/mmwrhtml/mm5717a2.htm
The numbers came from VAERS, a passive reporting system for vaccine reactions, so the numbers may be higher (since doctors are extremely loath to report vaccine reactions of any kind, especially if it’s “just” fainting).
In fact, during the Poling family press conference, Hannah Poling’s parents, a former ICU pediatric nurse and neurologist, admitted that they didn’t even know what VAERS was when Hannah had her vaccine reactions, and they didn’t get reported.
So the reactions, even “just” physiological ones like fainting are probably much higher than what we’ve been led to believe.
Bottom line? Think twice before trusting your health to “experts” who think that “just” fainting is a reasonable reaction to injections that aren’t even necessary in the first place.
